BRIO No. 21

The latest issue of our Paso Fino Magazine "Brio" is printed and you will find in your mailbox next week. Among other topics and articles we have reports from the shows in Wemding and Switzerland, from Cabalgatas and other sanctioned trailrides and as a higlight a report from a journey to Colombia.

Finos in the Limelight

From 01.-04.09.2011 Gut Ellenbach near Kassel was the hotspot for all Gaited Horses in Germany. For 4 days Saddlebred horses, Icelandic Ponies, Aegidienberger, Paso Peruanos as well as several gaited cross-breeds competed against each other in various classes. Among them also a large group of Paso Finos with highly motivated and very committed riders. The Paso Finos sparkled under the top conditions (weather, oval tracks, barn tent and wine and dine) and we have rarely received more attention and interest for our breed. The times in which our horses were downgraded as hectic little ponies are apparently gone. We have received plenty of praise, respect and recognition from spectators and other contestants. All our riders and horses always looked elegant and refined. No matter if floodlight, pouring rain or heat – the styling was always and everywhere perfect!

2nd Swiss Paso Fino Classic

A wonderful show and even with fine weather (something that doesn't go for granted in this so far very wet summer) - this were the 2nd Swiss Paso Fino Classic on August 13 and 14. The team around Claudia and Daniel Greb from Swiss Paso Fino Farm outdid itself and organized a perfect show. The many guests enjoyed exciting classes and a great atmosphere (lovely decorations, plenty of food and drink, breed demonstrations during breaks, pony riding for the kids and much more). Congratulations to all winners and other exhibitors and a big thank you to the Swiss team - we are looking forward to the next Swiss Classic in 2012!

More Shows in 2011

Our next showlight casts its shadow – this time in Switzerland. For the second time our friends from the Swiss Paso Fino Farm will host the 2nd Swiss Paso Fino Classic. Exciting classes and lots of fun spiced with the typical Swiss flair promise a fantastic weekend in a beautiful environment on August 13 and 14, 2011.

About 3 weeks later the 2011 show season will end with the International German Gaited Horses featuring several Paso Fino classes. The deadline for entering is July 31st, 2011.

Paso Finos at the German Game & Country Fair

A team of five PFAE members will show Paso Fino horses on July 2 and 3, 2011 at the beautiful Satzvey Castle (D-53894 Mechernich-Satzvey) and demonstrate the breed and its specific gaits. The German Game & Country Fair is an outdoor show combined with an exhibition for riding, dogs, hunting and fishing. Visit www.gamefair.de for more information.

3rd Paso Fino Spring Classic in Wemding

37 Paso Finos turned the 3rd Paso Fino Spring Classics in Wemding into a show with many interesting, exciting classes. The top quality and presentation of the horses were remarkable. Our judge from the US, Deborah McMahon-King, had a hard time to pin the horses in the different divisions. Very often the final placement was decided by minor differences in tough workouts. The atmosphere during the whole show was great, not the least also influenced by the excellent weather conditions. Click here for the results of the classes and the champions of the show.
